Oh snap. You may be able to get a speaker for that. If you need to go extremely cheap, I'd look at some of those all in one deals. I'm not a huge fan as they usually aren't high end. I picked up an entire SOny 5.1 set up with HDMI and a pretty decent upconverting 5 disc dvd player for abou 500 last year. I believe you can get the same one for almost 300 or less now.

I'm not looking to get top end stuff, just something better than my crappy stereo speakers.

So you just need speakers then? Not a reciever or anything?

Well, my receiver/amp is 12 years old. Not sure anymore what all it is capable of. $150 might be wishful thinking.

                    Re: Home theater

That doesn't look too bad for the price actually. 800 watts isn't much, but should be able to rock better than what you have now. And if it has at least 2 HDMI and *wishful thinking* 2 optical ports then fuck yeah.

Is that the kind of tech specs I should be looking for? I'm not too savy(?) with home audio anymore.

                        Re: Home theater

For me all I care about is that it has expandability as I can't have my windows rattling or nothing (stupid apartment) 2 HDMI and 2 optical seems about right for my current setup (hdmi from receiver into tv, hdmi from PS3 into receiver, digital audio from PS3 into reciever, hdmi from 360 into tv, and digital audio from tv into reciever)

But once Corey steps in here he'll let you know what's up, as he seems to be the king of this kind of shit.

I don't currently have an HD TV, but as I'm sure I will at some point I would assume that I would need to plan accordingly with this purchase. And shit.

Awesome. Thanks! Do we have a thread where people show off their AV set up or was that on CHUD?
