Who are you going to see this summer?

So far, my first show is looking like Weezer on June 11th.

Well, I was going to see Chamillionaire next week at the House of Blues, but obviously I'm not making it. Dream Theater/Queensryche are playing in July, but it's at my most hated venue, a venue that only becomes more miserable in the middle of the Houston summer, so I am likely not making it to that one either.

Thinking of going to Talib Kweli on the 13th, definitely going to Of Montreal on the 24th.

      MGMT in June in Austin.

      And Lolla in SWASSMonth.

      So far...

Rush is going out on their Time Machine tour June 29th, but won't hit my neck of the woods until September. Jen and I might catch them this time around, depending on $$$ (I'd have pre-bought VIP tickets already but it'd run me over $300... no thanks!).

Just bought our tickets for Rush yesterday. They're gonna be here on Friday, August 27th, at our MN State Fair. AWESOME seats.

JEALOUS!!!! Glad you're getting to see 'em, Matt! Rumor has it they're working on a new album (finally!), so you may hear some new tracks from it during the show.

I gotta start picking up the Aquarian and EC Rocker again - it's been awhile since I knew of any shows playing in my neck of the woods (can't tell you how long it's been since I hit the Stone Pony).

Henry Rollins talking show on May 19th (happy b-day to me!). DMB at the end of August. I'm waffling on Mastodon on May 13th and a couple other local shows. I'm anxious for the local Blues Fest line-up to be announced. Last year wasn't so great so I'm hoping it will bounce back.

Mastodon isn't coming near Houston, which is a shame because we have great rock venues. I'm not the massive fan a lot of people are, but they're a bad I have been trying to listen to more and I bet they put on a great show.

Got a play-by-play of their show at Stubbs.

Sounded like a fucking dervish, running through their song list like Teh Juggernaut Bitch.

George and I are stalking the Live Nation website, but so far haven't found anyone we want to see. There's Tom Petty and Buddy Guy at MSG, but with MSG seats, we'd likely wind up in the nosebleed section with how fast those went. Hopefully more shows will be added - it's just hard to believe there's no one in NY right now. Last year at this time, by February we had lined up tickets for a triple bill of Cheap Trick/Poison/Def Leppard at Jones Beach, and then George somehow managed to get us KILLER seats for Paul McCartney at Citifield at the last minute. Maybe the concert gods are telling us "Hey, you had it pretty good last year - we're all tapped out this year, sorry!"

                              Hinder / Finger Eleven
