    Apparently will finally be done as a live action flick starring Leo DiCaprio and Joseph Gorden-Levitt as Kaneda and Tetsuo.
    No longer set in Neo-Tokyo but Neo-Manhatten. Could be a decent flick as they are going off of the original manga. It's going to be 2 films with each film being based on 3 books.

                  I watched this back in August after a long hiatus...seriously, it had been around 8 YEARS since my last viewing. I must admit, the story itself really didn't hold up all that well. Sure, the visuals are awesome and would look great in a live action setting, but the story REALLY NEEDS WORK.

                        Dude, I LOVE Robotech, but the story would need work. And less singing.

                        It's like Macross Plus. I love it, but fuck that Japanese fixation with singing.

                            The story of 'Akira' WAS better in the manga (I have it all as well), but it would still need re-tooling to appeal to a Western audience.

                            And Martin: I agree 100% with the complaint against singing in the Robotech cartoon. If the live action film has Lynn Minmei singing 'We Will Win', I'm gonna be PISSED.

                              Haven't read the manga.

                              As for Robotech, even at 6-7, I went WTF when the Zentreadi were "defeated" by music.
